Dive into the deep, dark waters of '80s-era synths. Walk into the misty haze, feel its new-romantic embrace all around you. Dusky's latest single "Swansea" is a bit of goth-pop paradise, thank in large part to the work of vocal collaborator Gary Numan.
"Gary Numan has always been one of our musical heroes," Dusky say in an emailed statement. "He's got an incredibly iconic voice, but most importantly has always been a true pioneer and individual when it comes to electronic music."
The guys produced "Swansea" independent of any vocals, but they knew they wanted someone's voice to grace the synthy creation. As a big influence on the song's eerily electronic sound, Numan's name immediately came to mind, regardless of how daunting it seemed to reach out to the mythical artist.
"We had no idea how to get to him or whether he would like it, but we did and he was," Dusky continues. "He completely nailed the vibe, and it ended up being one of the easiest and most natural collaborations we've been involved in. We hope you enjoy it."
"Swansea" is on Duksy's latest album Outer which hits digital shelves Friday, Oct. 14. Check the latest single below.
