Alex Band, lead singer of the Calling, was abducted and robbed this past weekend in Lapeer, Michigan while in town for the Lapeer Days music festival, TMZ reports. According to The Flint Journal, Band was forced into what was described as a blue-minivan between 3 and 4 a.m.; TMZ notes he was on his way to a nearby convenience store from his hotel. Band was then reportedly beaten, robbed and left on another street in the city.
Another member of the Calling – who scored their biggest hit in 2001 with "Wherever You Will Go" – realized Band was missing and organized a search later that morning. Band was found shortly after and taken to the emergency room at a local hospital, where he was treated and released. There were no reports of any arrests, and police are still investigating the incident.
