Jeff Beck is set to join Beach Boy Brian Wilson on a monthlong U.S. tour this fall which will kick off on September 27th in Hollywood, Florida, as announced on USA Today. Beck collaborated on Wilson's upcoming solo album, a partnership that sprung from a meeting in 2006 when Beck was asked to honor Wilson at the MusicCares Person of the Year tribute.
The tour will complement both musicians: "Brian will kick things off, but I'll also be given enough time to establish what I'm about," says Beck. "In the end, we'll mix and match. It's a complete honor to be on stage with him."
Beck adds that the tour will feature a dynamic of "classic surfing safari music and this weird stuff that I do," and he promises "it will sound like it's all of one accord." Wilson is confident in Beck's abilities, noting he "brings that great guitar-player kind of thing to the picture."
The 18-city tour will also include Beach Boys Al Jardine and David Marks, who are both just coming off of the Beach Boys' 50th anniversary tour.
