Songkick is teaming up with Shazam to give users of the music discovery app a front row seat to its trove of concert data and information. The partnership, announced today during the Billboard Touring Conference in Los Angeles, will make hundreds of thousands of artist tour dates readily available whenever Shazam-ers discover new music.
The product integration is being rolled out in early 2017. According to Fabio Santini, Chief Product Officer at Shazam, the partnership between the two discovery platforms (one for songs, the other live events) makes perfect sense. "In partnering with Songkick to create this new offering, we are able to further connect the dots from discovery to fandom that make up a strong artist-to-fan relationship," he said in a statement.
Since merging with Crowdsurge last year, Songkick has expanded its artist ticketing and discovery to more than 60 markets globally and more than 12 million fans monthly. The iOS and Android app has previously integrated with Spotify, Pandora, MTV and Soundcloud, among others.
