The Outfield's "Your Love" has been sampled and covered countless times, but never with such EDM electricity as on Los Angeles-based producer/DJ Morgan Page's new remix. The familiar English power-punk vocals are backed by a booming, club-ready beat for an exciting new sound.
"I wanted to give a modern twist to this classic," Page tells Rolling Stone. "It just felt right. I reached out to the Outfield and asked for a recent version. They re-recorded the vocals, and I added my production to it."
The track debuted in 1985 and, even with the update, the remix manages to maintain a 1980s charm. "I think it kicks the song into 2013," Page says. "It's just a universal pop song. It doesn't matter what year it is. Everybody can wrap their mind around the track and lyrics. It means so much to me that I got the artist's blessing."
"Your Love" will be featured on Page's next, as-yet-unnamed complication. The "Morgan Page Presents..." tour will kick off later this year with 55 dates across the United States.
