By Evan Minsker.
Today, Chance the Rapper announced that he is donating $1 million to Chicago Public Schools. “Our kids should not be held hostage because of political positions,” he said. The announcement came after Chance expressed frustration over his meeting with Illinois governor Bruce Rauner. Tonight, Michelle Obama tweeted a message to Chance, thanking him for “giving back to the Chicago community, which gave us so much.” She added, “You are an example of the power of arts education.”
