Mark Ronson and Diplo Announce New Project Silk City

They’re playing Governors Ball this year

Mark Ronson and Diplo have announced their new joint project Silk City. It’s seemingly named after the Philadelphia venue and diner where Diplo got his start as a DJ. Silk City will be playing their first live performance at this year’s Governors Ball. Jack White, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Eminem, N.E.R.D, and Travis Scott are also playing the festival. Back in August 2017, Diplo talked about how he and Ronson were at work on a new collaborative disco album. Pitchfork has reached out to Diplo and Ronson’s representatives for more information.

Last year, Diplo’s Major Lazer released their new Know No Better EP featuring Travis Scott, Quavo, Camila Cabello, J Balvin, and more. Ronson and Tame Impala’s Kevin Parker shared an unreleased SZA collaboration at Governors Ball 2017; SZA has since teased that she’s making an album with the duo.
