Maluma, Camila and Sin Bandera are among the artists announced to perform at the 2017 Viña del Mar Festival. The iconic event is celebrating its 58th anniversary the week of February 20-25 at its longtime venue, the Quinta Vergara in Viña del Mar, Chile.
Other confirmed performers include Argentine newcomer Lali Espósito, Americo, Los Fabulosos Cadillacs, Río Roma, Auténticos Decadentes and Mon Laferte, recently nominated for a Latin Grammy. More acts will be announced soon.
Throughout its history, the festival has had several symbols to honor the acts. The tradition began in 1961 with the "Golden Lira," which was replaced by the "Antorcha de Plata" (the Silver Torch). Since 1999, the official icon of the festival is the Gaviota (Seagull), delivered to winners in gold and silver versions. During its last edition Don Omar, Lionel Richie, Marco Antonio Solis, Nicky Jam and Alejandro Sanz, among others, performed on the famous stage.
The festival is produced and broadcast by Chilevision, a Turner Group company. The event will also be broadcast internationally through HTV and TNT. In addition, CNN en Español will highlight the best moments on Café CNN show.
