In honor of International Women's Day Wednesday (March 8), Madonna released a black-and-white short film titled "Her-Story: Women Who Fight For Freedom." The empowering video is a montage of eight scenes that show the evolution of the feminist revolution.
"Welcome to the revolution of love, to our refusal as women to accept this new age of tyranny, where not just women are in danger, but all marginalized people, where being uniquely different might truly be considered a crime. The revolution starts here," the pop icon declares in a voiceover.
Styled in a variety of fashionable numbers to fit each chapter, the singer pointedly references to Marlene Dietrich, The Conformist and Wim Wenders. Her powerful message is a beautiful vision of her "dedication to all women who fight for freedom."
The video was a collaboration done with photographers Luigi & Iango and Vogue Germany.
