After announcing the release date for his third album Everybody on Wednesday (March 29), Logic unleashed the title track.
Over the soulful sample, the Maryland upstart candidly raps about his biracial background: "Not accepted by the black or the white/ I don't give a f--k, praise God, I could see the light/ Everybody talkin' 'bout race this, race that/ Man, I wish I could erase that, face facts."
The subject has always been of paramount importance for the young artist. In a recent interview with Genius, Logic spoke on the significance of "Everybody." "I have to look in the mirror and see the man that I do, and know, that in my bloodline and in my lineage was the slave and the master," he said. "And that's what made me. That's what created me. And it's kind of f---ed up to think about that, but I'm not ashamed of who I am."
Originally slated to be called AfricAryan, Logic's album will find him planning to break down racial barriers and stereotypes via his forthcoming album.
