Listen to Prince’s Moving Tribute Song ‘Baltimore’

Ahead of his “Rally 4 Peace” concert in Baltimore on Sunday (May 10), Prince has shared shared a moving new tribute song to the city following the death of Freddie Gray.

“Does anybody hear us pray?/For Michael Brown or Freddie Gray/Peace is more than the absence of war,” Prince sings in the heartfelt “Baltimore. Listen below.

The four-and-a-half-minute track was recorded in early May at Prince’s Paisley Park in Minnesota.

Earlier this week, Prince announced plans to perform at a concert in Baltimore following recent unrest in the city over the death of Gray, who was fatally injured in police custody. Six police officers involved in the young man’s arrest have been charged in his death.

Prince will perform at the "Rally 4 Peace” concert at Baltimore’s Royal Farms Arena on Sunday. He will be joined by funk-rock group 3RDEYEGIRL. A portion of the proceeds will benefit Baltimore-based youth charities. Audio from the show will be streamed live on music service Tidal service.
