Rick Ross condemns the Trayvon Martin verdict and Florida's Stand Your Ground law in his new track "I Wonder Why." In it, Ross (who was raised near Miami) raps in a sarcastic drawl, "You gotta stand your ground!"
The song is set to a dark, booming beat and explores the contrasts between Ross' and Martin's upbringings. Ross also reflects on his early criminal life and how he could've met the same fate as Martin. As the track fades out, Ross samples the testimony of Rachel Jeantel, Martin's friend. The track will be on Self Made Vol. 3, a collaborative album from Ross' Maybach Music Group that is set for release on September 17th.
