Lil Wayne might not know who Lil Yachty is, but the best basketballer on the planet sure does.
The Atlanta rapper appears with Cleveland Cavaliers superstar LeBron James in a quirky new ad campaign for Sprite.
The freshly-crowned NBA champ throws to Yachty (real name Miles McCollum) in a scene where the rising hip-hop star plays piano to a re-imagined version of "Minnesota", before taking himself a big swig of the fizzy stuff.
As the 60-second spot reaches its climax, LeBron and some cool ring-ins drink up and get autotuned as the "Minnesota" riff plays out.
Sprite and hip-hop have a rich shared history. Earlier this year the drinks brand brought back its Obey Your Verse Lyrical Collection, featuring limited-edition packaging adorned with 16 song lyrics from 2Pac, Missy Elliott and J. Cole.
Last year's inaugural Verse campaign, a spin on the beverage's Obey Your Thirst slogan that debuted in 1994, featured Drake, Nas, Rakim and The Notorious B.I.G. Ballers too have been endorsing Sprite for decades. Long before LeBron was steamrolling rivals on the hardwood, now-retired NBA great Grant Hill starred in a bunch of classic ads back in the '90s.
