Libertines Surprise Glastonbury With Unannounced Performance

The Libertines are making a comeback and where better for such modern UK rock royalty to mark its return than Glastonbury Festival?

The punk quartet played a surprise set at the British festival Friday night to widely positive reviews on social media.

They preceded Florence + the Machine on the Pyramid Stage as the sun was setting, conjuring sing-alongs on songs like “Don’t Look Back into the Sun” (see below). As NME reports, the set also included favorites “Death On The Stairs,” “Boys In The Band” and “Death On The Stairs.”

The band recently signed with Virgin EMI for what is supposed to be a comeback album. And, a week ago, it performed a new song during its headlining set at the Best Kept Secret Festival in the Netherlands.
