LCD Soundsystem Debut New Songs “Tonight,” “Call Police,” and “American Dream”

By Noah Yoo and Jazz Monroe.

Last night marked night 1 of LCD Soundsystem’s five-night takeover of Brooklyn Steel. The band announced on a massive poster that they were planning to play new songs, and asked concertgoers not to film the show: “It’d be a real gutpunch,” they wrote. The three new songs comprised the set’s first encore; some fans snapped pictures of the setlist, which indicates their titles: “Tonight,” “Call Police,” and “American Dream.” The band’s last studio release was the one-off “Christmas Will Break Your Heart” at the end of 2015; they’re planning to release a new studio album via Columbia by the end of the year. At the show, frontman James Murphy announced that they’re “almost done” with the new LP, echoing sentiments he expressed in January.
