Kristen Stewart Hits the ‘Gas, Gas, Gas’ in New Rolling Stones Video
Kristen Stewart has achieved the ultimate L.A. dream: driving on a clear freeway!
Better still, K-Stew- who recently deserted the bleach bandwagon to return to her natural dark shade – hit the “Gas, Gas, Gas” behind the wheel of a vintage ’65 Mustang while shooting a video for the Rolling Stones‘ new cover of the bluesy classic “Ride ‘Em On Down.”
“It didn’t take much more than a few words to get me amped on the idea,” says Stewart in a statement. The clip shows her driving wildly around the empty streets of downtown L.A., before dancing beside a gas station pump with a cigarette in mouth and pulling donuts on the concrete banks of the L.A. River.
“The Stones. A ’65 Mustang. Alone in Los Angeles. And the shoot was just as dreamy as the idea. We tore L.A. apart in a day and we had one hell of a soundtrack,” she adds
“Ride ‘Em On Down” is a cover of a 1955 Eddie Taylor recording and features on the Stones’ new album of blues standards, Blue & Lonesome.
Recorded in just three days at British Grove Studios in west London, the album—released Friday—is the Stones’ first studio release for a decade and shows the band “tipping their hats to their early days as a blues band when they played the music of Jimmy Reed, Willie Dixon, Eddie Taylor, Little Walter and Howlin’ Wolf,” reads a record company statement.
Fans of the blues will also be pleased to hear that Eric Clapton makes a guest appearance on two tracks, including a cover of the 1971 release “Everybody Knows About My Good Thing” by Little Johnny Taylor.
