Kodak Black Indicted on Sexual Assault Charges

The assault allegedly occurred February 2016

In November of 2016, Kodak Black (real name: Dieuson Octave) was arrested on criminal sexual conduct charges stemming from a sexual assault on a woman at a Comfort Inn and Suites in Florence County, South Carolina in February of that year. Today, a grand jury has indicted him on charges of first degree sexual assault, as local ABC affiliate WPDE reports and Pitchfork can confirm via court records. Octave was released from jail under probation this past June after serving a month of time for violating parole stemming from other incidents.

A trial date has yet to be set following Octave’s indictment. When reached for comment, an Atlantic Records representative said, “Atlantic Records is aware of the indictment and it was expected as part of the normal process of the pending case.” Pitchfork has reached out to Octave’s attorney for further comment.
