Kodak Black Arrested After Child Shown Near Drugs, Gun on Instagram

Rapper was booked on seven charges last night, including child neglect

Kodak Black was arrested in Florida last night on seven charges, including drug possession, grand theft of a firearm, and child neglect. Now, TMZ reports and Broward County Sheriff’s Office documents obtained by Pitchfork confirm, that Kodak was arrested after his young child was shown in the vicinity of drugs and a handgun during an Instagram Live broadcast. According to the police documents, during the course of the video, the child was brought into a bathroom, where a joint was held “inches from the infant's face,” and a gun was also present. Kodak Black “failed to make a reasonable effort to protect” the child “from the immediate danger that a firearm and individuals with narcotics or under the influence of narcotics posed to the child,” according to the documents. When police searched the house, they found more marijuana and guns, including a handgun that had been reported stolen.

Kodak is currently on house arrest after being released from jail last June and is “prohibited from possessing firearms and narcotics,” according to the documents. In October, he was indicted on sexual assault charges.
