Kid Cudi Plans Own Funeral, Posts Details Online

Kid Cudi has made the planning of his funeral a little easier for his loved ones. The singer-rapper outlined his wishes in writing and posted them online Sunday.

The artist, who released his debut Man on the Moon: The End of Day on Kanye West’s GOOD Music label in 2009, lists in explicit detail what he wants to happen on the day he is memorialized. He requests a “100% rose gold plated” casket, a separate ceremony for fans, and that there be a celebration of dancing and “no sadness.”

“I want to be in my ripped Levis jeans and my Incesticide Nirvana T-shirt with my Converse,” he writes in the handwritten note. “Don’t cut my hair. No matter what keep the casket closed.”

Cudi also offers several options for settling his remains. His first listed choice is to send his body “to space to be buried on the moon.” If that option is not feasible, he asks that he be “sent through a wormhole” with all of his music and his story “on a jump drive.”

In the event he does not have many remains, he suggests that he be cremated or that they “dig up” his dad’s body and bury him with his father. Ultimately, he says to simply do whatever his mother deems appropriate.

A few minutes after sharing the letter, he clarified the posting is not a song.

Last year, Cudi was recognized by the Didi Hirsch Mental Health Services’ Erasing the Stigma Leadership Awards for using his music to  help suicidal and depressed youth.

In March, Cudi released the song “Love,” a thumping hopeful ballad about finding real love. His fifth studio album, Speedin’ Bullet to Heaven, is due out this year.
