Celebrity romance rumors are apparently no laughing matter. Following tabloid reports Katy Perry and Ryan Phillippe were seen getting friendly at Elton John's birthday party last month, the actor took to Twitter in attempt to shut down the speculation that he claimed created a spectacle around outside his home.
"I AM NOT DATING KATY PERRY," Phillippe posted to Twitter on Sunday. "BARELY KNOW HER. PLEASE STOP FLYING HELICOPTERS OVER MY HOUSE. SHE IS NOT HERE."
He added, in response to a fan, that he doesn't mind people thinking they're dating, just doesn't want "low flying pervs hovering periodically."

On Monday (April 10), Perry replied to Phillippe's post, saying it was nice to meet him and then apologizing -- presumably for the commotion.
Hi, nice to meet you, sorry bout that @RyanPhillippe carry on, lol.

Perry broke up with Orlando Bloom in late February after a less than a year of dating. Phillippe and his ex-fiancée Paulina Slagter split in November after five years together.
