On Fridays, Billboard presents Emerging Artists of the Week, a weekly look at new and noteworthy acts making their way upward on the Billboard + Twitter Emerging Artists chart.
K.Flay, "Blood In The Cut"
The alternative hip-hop artist's new single debuts at No. 9 on the latest Billboard + Twitter Emerging Artists chart (dated Sept. 24).
The track debuts in the top 10 on the strength of the song's music video release on Sept. 7. The video has garnered over 115,000 global views on YouTube in the week following its debut.
The singer and Stanford University graduate has three prior entries on chart: "Can't Sleep," her first entry (No. 7, October 2014); "Make Me Fade" (No. 10, December 2014); and "Back at the Start" (No. 27, March 2015).
"Blood in the Cut" is featured on K.Flay's EP Crush Me, released Aug. 19.
The English musician and record producer, who's based in Vienna, Austria, climbs 19-13 on the Billboard + Twitter Emerging Artists chart with "Signal." The song debuted on the chart dated Sept. 17.
"Signal" gains its rise after the song's music video release on Sept. 7, which stars and was directed by Milla Jovovich in her directorial debut. The haunting black-and-white video was filmed in one continuous shot and has clocked 157,000 global views on YouTube since its release.
"Signal" is SOHN's first release since his 2014 debut album, Tremors.
Mitski, "Your Best American Girl"
The New York-based indie rocker re-enters the Billboard + Twitter Emerging Artists chart with "Your Best American Girl" at No. 14 -- the song's highest position on the chart.
The song debuted at No. 20 on the chart dated March 19 and then re-entered on the chart dated April 30 at No. 28. The track is featured on Mitski's fourth studio album, Puberty 2, released June 17. The album peaked at No. 32 on the Top Rock Albums chart dated July 9.
The music video for "Your Best American Girl" was released April 13 and has since gained 570,000 global YouTube hits.
