Jason Derulo has an obvious sweet tooth in his new "Swalla" video with Nicki Minaj and Ty Dolla $ign, partying it up in a candy-coated play house with girls, drinks and sugary treats every which way.
The brightly colored video directed by Gil Green shows Derulo giving infectious performances, be it stunting with a backup band of models, dancing in puddles while water splashes with each footstep or flexing with a lime green muscle car. True to the innuendo in the singer's opening line, "Love in a thousand different flavors/ I wish that I could take them all night," there are women everywhere, as tasty looking Derulo-branded candy, soda and snack cakes pop up throughout.
Derulo's dancing is typically superb and his bro-down with Ty Dolla $ign adds a definite vibe to the piece, but Minaj might just steal the show when she enters the scene. Rapping and writhing in a circus fun house striped in a confectionery color palate, Minaj rolls through her verse in oversized reflective sunglasses that feel out of the year 3000 spitting out lines announcing her return with some swings possibly aimed at one Remy Ma: "I gave these bitches two years, now you're times up/ bless her heart she's throwing shots, but every line sucks."
