Jack Black's Most Tenaciously Rockin' Video Cameos

Anyone who’s seen High Fidelity, School of Rock, or a Tenacious D concert knows that Jack Black rocks. Hard. Further evidence of his rockin’-ness is his cameo in two new outrageous videos by Off! (not the bug spray, but the punk band fronted by Black Flag/Circle Jerks legend Keith Morris).

But how does Jack’s star turn in “Over Our Heads”/”Meet Your God” stack up against his many other hilarious music video cameos? Below are our picks of destiny, ranked.

(WARNING: AS IS THE CASE WITH MANY THINGS JACK BLACK-RELATED, SEVERAL OF THE VIDEOS LISTED HERE CONTAIN STRONG LANGUAGE, BLOOD, AND ADULT THEMES. PROCEED WITH CAUTION!)

9. Foo Fighters, “Learn to Fly” (1999)

The skies get a whole lot friendlier, and funnier, when Jack takes on the role he was clearly born to play, “Janitor #2.”

8. Eagles of Death Metal, “I Want You So Hard” (2009)

Jack bellies up to the bar in this wacky, wig-filled clip, and he serves up the laughs. Look for the Foos’ Dave Grohl and part-time EoDM member Josh Homme (of Queens of the Stone Age) under a couple of other “Sabotage”-worthy hairpieces.

7. Beck, “Sexx Laws” (1999)

Well, Beck did say he wanted to “defy logic,” right? But it’s Jack’s motivational speech, around the 3:35 mark, that’s truly mind-boggling. Violas for everyone!

6. Dio, “Push” (2002)

Jack and his Tenacious D cohort Kyle Gass were never shy about expressing their adoration for elfin, awesome rocker Ronnie James Dio. When the three joined forces, metal magic ensued. (RIP, RJD.)

5. TIE: Off!, “Over Our Heads”/”Meet Your God” (2014)

Keith Morris celebrates his 59th birthday with crazy, crazy Jack. And he barely makes it to his 60th.

4. Off!, “Wrong” (2012)

Jack and Off! first came together two years ago for this fake TV movie, Lethal Justice, which also stars Steve McDonald of Redd Kross. We’re still very, very sad that this isn’t a real movie.

3. Weird Al Yankovic, “Tacky” (2014)

Aisha Tyler, Margaret Cho, Eric Stonestreet, and Kristen Schaal all make cameos in this Pharrell-parodying clip, but of course Jack steals the show — and looks good doing it, in some snazzy tie-dyed Buttafuoco pants.

2. Stephen Malkmus & The Jicks, “Senator” (2011)

Talk about a Republican party! Jack, playing the song’s titular corrupt character, gets down ‘n’ dirty with his much-younger campaign aides, and the result is the sort of political scandal that could make Anthony Weiner blanch. Look for a cameo by Office Space's Gary Cole, too, in this shocking (as in shockingly funny) romp directed by The Daily Show's Scott Jacobson.

1. Foo Fighters, “Low” (2003)

Years before Jersey Shore made binge-drinking and motel-room-brawling part of its regularly scheduled programming, the network actually banned this truly disturbing clip. Be warned: Once you see this, it can’t be unseen.
