Impressive, Adorable Footage of 10-Year-Old Beyoncé Going for $3.8 Million

In 1993, a 12-year-old Beyoncé performed on the talent show Star Search. At the time, she was part of a group called Girls Tyme. Now a London-based auction house, Ted Owen & Co., is attempting to sell never-before-seen footage of Beyoncé and Girls Tyme from 1992. The asking price? About 3 million pounds, or $3.8 million.

That gets you a combined two and a half hours on 12 tapes of a 10-year-old Beyoncé performing, rehearsing, and goofing around with her friends. The auction firm also claims that the footage includes Beyoncé’s first music video, which appears to have been shot at a mall.

The auction closes on Jan. 10, at which point we will know if someone has spent a small fortune on 150 minutes of, essentially, Beyoncé’s home videos.

Girls Tyme eventually became Destiny’s Child, but their 1993 appearance on Star Search was recently used in Beyoncé’s 2014 self-titled album. On the song “Flawless, she samples the moment when they lost the competition.
