High Sunn is the project of prolific 17-year-old San Francisco musician Justin Cheromiah. His new EP The Hopeless Romantic is the latest addition to an already vast catalog of music; it’s also his first studio recording, produced by Dylan Wall (Craft Spells, Naomi Punk). We get a preview today in the form of “Polaroids.” A bouncy guitar melody holds the spotlight with ’80s-style synths fluttering in the back. Cheromiah’s vocals are manipulated, sounding like he’s shouting at the end of a tunnel that him and some friends found in an abandoned park. It’s intoxicating, sun-filled dream pop, and you can hear it below.
The Hopeless Romantic is out 5/19 via PNKSLM Recordings.
