Hear It First! ‘Voice’ Star Tony Lucca Premieres New Self-Titled Album

Many fans know Tony Lucca as The Voice Season 2’s Team Adam standout, the man whose inventive covers of “How Do You Like Me Now,” “…Baby One More Time,” and “99 Problems” took him all the way to the top three. Longtime fans know him from the classic ’90s cast of The Mickey Mouse Club, on which he starred alongside Britney Spears, Justin Timberlake, J.C. Chasez, Ryan Gosling, Keri Russell, and future Voice coach Christina Aguilera. Diehard fans know him from his tireless indie recording career, which dates back to 1997.

And many of those fans are responsible for making Tony’s eighth full-length album (and first entirely self-produced release) a reality, via a Kickstarter campaign that impressively hit its $25,000 goal in less than 30 hours. Now Tony Lucca is about to come out, and Yahoo Music’s Reality Rocks is delighted to premiere it in its entirety, a week before its release, right here.

"I guess you could say this record sounds an awful lot like the rock ‘n’ roll records I fell in love with as a kid," Tony tells Yahoo Music, citing everyone from the Black Crowes and the Black Keys, from AC/DC to Tom Petty, as influences. "Funny that after so many years of making records, I would somehow return to the sounds and style that turned me on in the first place. I’ve never had more fun making a record, and I think you can hear that, loud and clear."

Tony Lucca comes out Jan. 27 on Noble Steed Music; preorder it HERE!
