Hear It First: Rare Live Version of the Grateful Dead’s ‘Scarlet Begonias’

Deadheads, take note: The band is poised to release the mega-boxed set 30 Trips Around The Sun, which offers up a mind-boggling 80 discs featuring 30 unreleased live shows, one from each year the band was together.

If your mind isn’t blown yet alone by that information: Yahoo Music is pleased to preview “Scarlet Begonias,” captured live from Cobo Hall in Detroit from Oct 1976, for fans to get a taste of the project.

The set will hit the streets September 18. Not quite ready to commmit to 80 discs of the Dead? A more manageable 4-CD and digital version of the collection will also be available the same day.
