Hear It First: Hope-Dealer MAJOR. Tells Trouble to ‘Hit the Road’

There’s a shortage of inspirational music on pop radio so MAJOR.’s “Hit the Road” will definitely fill a void. Yahoo Music is pleased to premiere the song from the Texas native whose music has been featured in films, the James Brown biopic Get on Up and Think Like a Man Too.

Produced by Harmony Samuels, who has helmed works for Ariana Grande, Chris Brown, and Destiny’s Child, “Hit the Road” offers a modernized twist on Ray Charles’s 1961 classic “Hit the Road Jack.” The punchy horns and female doo-wop background vocals are complimented by MAJOR.’s rich tone and message of triumph. MAJOR.’s version of “Hit the Road” is about overcoming hardships as he sings, “trouble won’t do it no more,” “heartache, no I won’t take it no more,” and “the weight of the world won’t make me crumble.” The track is also blessed with a hot rap verse from Mali Music.

MAJOR., a Berklee College of Music graduate, has received the praises of the likes of Mary Mary’s Erica Campbell and Lala Hathaway. Says Campbell, “MAJOR. is innovative and vintage. He is classic, engaging and entertaining. He will make a huge impact on this industry.”

Dubbed a “champion hope-dealer,” MAJOR. is on par to help spark a much-needed wave of music that entertains and uplifts.
