Hannibal Buress Is Joining The ‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’ Cast

Buress has been seen in both Seth Rogen's Neighbors and Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising, The Nice Guys, and the soon to be released Secret Life of Pets (July 8).

Many great faces have been passed through Hollywood’s comedic realm of entertainment, and Hannibal Buress is no exception to the rule when it comes to making a long-lasting name for yourself in the entertainment industry. Especially in the business of making people laugh.

Buress will be joining the Spider-Man: Homecoming cast, Variety reports. Buress has been seen in both Seth Rogen’s Neighbors and Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising, The Nice Guys, and the soon to be released Secret Life of Pets (July 8).

Buress’ addition is bringing tons of positive attention to the film, much like the announcement of Donald “Childish Gambino” Glover’s role. Jon Watts in an interview explaining the angle he’s taking on this new movie said:

“The film’s diverse casting (bolstered not only by Glover, but also Disney-bred actress Zendaya as Peter Parker’s love interest) is a natural byproduct of the action’s setting. Peter Parker goes to high school in Queens, and Queens is one of—if not the—most diverse places in the world. So I just wanted it to reflect what that actually looks like….It’s been really fun to just look for things that none of the other Spider-Man movies have really explored before, and decide if that’s something we want to work into that,When you’re looking at it through that prism, it really opens up the door to a lot of possibilities.”

The movie’s cast is made up of some real heavy hitters including Logan Marshall-Green, Marisa Tomei, Michael Keaton, Zendaya, Kenneth Choi and, of course, Tom Holland. A release date hasn’t been secured yet, but the picture is rumored to drop sometime next year.
