Grace Keeps It Simple for ‘You Don’t Own Me’ Video With G-Eazy

A brand-new solo female artist can never go wrong when releasing a pro-woman anthem as her debut single. Australian singer Grace can surely attest to this, finding success with her soulful modernization of Lesley Gore’s 1963 pop hit “You Don’t Own Me.”

After already achieving four million streams online, Grace premieres the song’s music video with guest rapper G-Eazy. Wisely, the visual directed by Taylor Cohen focuses on Grace’s talent rather than special effects or a far-reaching interpretive concept.

The three-minute clip is set in a recording studio and simply captures Grace working her magic behind the microphone and serving plenty of sex appeal during a session engineered by the Oakland rapper.

The 18-year-old singer released her first EP, Memo, last month on Regime Music Societe/RCA, showcasing her influences by the likes of Shirley Bassey, Lauryn Hill, Minnie Riperton, and Amy Winehouse.
