When you play a superhero it just makes sense that you'd turn to a superhero for inspiration. And while, technically, Beyoncé doesn't have superhuman strength or a lasso of truth, it turns out she helped Wonder Woman actress Gal Gadot get into the the zone when she was auditioning to play the Amazonian warrior princess.
In a cover story for W Magazine, Israeli actress Gadot described the nerves that overtook her when she waited her turn to land the role the first time around. "When I auditioned for Batman v Superman, I didn't know it was for Wonder Woman," Gadot explained of the try-out that would lead to her slipping into the gilded bustier for the first time in 2016's bloated superhero showdown. "The director, Zack Snyder, asked me to do a camera test. That was torture. They were looking at six or seven girls, and we were all in separate trailers and were told to stay inside until they called us. Waiting is my enemy Number One, and I was losing my mind. So, I decided to put on Beyoncé."
Yup, when in doubt, turn to a woman who has dedicated her career to female empowerment. And who, not for nothing, swings a mean bat.
"Who runs the world? Girls! I just started to dance, and I let my anxiety go. Thank you, Beyoncé!," Gadot said. Click here to read the full W interview.
