Flaming Lips Announce Tour, Share New “The Castle” Video

The band’s upcoming album Oczy Mlody features a guest spot from Miley Cyrus.

By Kevin Lozano.

Yesterday, the Flaming Lips announced their latest album, Oczy Mlody, and shared its first single “The Castle.” Today, the band have shared a new music video for “The Castle,” a two-part video of Wayne Coyne explaining the title, and announced a tour. “The Castle” video depicts a woman listening to the song over psychedelic visuals. Below, you can watch the new video, Coyne’s explainers, and find the band’s upcoming tour dates.

Oczy Mlody will be released on January 13 via Warner Bros. Records. It includes a Miley Cyrus guest spot on the album’s final track “We a Famly.” The band collaborated with Cyrus on last year’s Miley Cyrus and Her Dead Petz.

Coyne says Oczy Mlody “sounds like Syd Barrett meets A$AP Rocky and they get trapped in a fairy tale from the future” in a press release.

Later today, Wayne Coyne will host Facebook live chat at 1:00 p.m. Eastern Time to discuss Oczy Mlody.
