Despite jet-setting across the globe to rehearse in Hong Kong, Fifth Harmony member Normani Kordei and partner Val Chmerkovskiy owned Monday night's (April 3) Dancing With the Stars episode, earning the highest score of the night.
Dressed in red, the 20-year-old entertainer slinked it up to Shirley Bassey's "Big Spender," a perfectly chosen song in line with the show's first Las Vegas-themed night. Kordei vamped it up with high kicks, attitude and a well-placed finish on a poker table, earning big praise from all four judges and a score of 34 out of 40.
"You broke the bank in Vegas," exclaimed judge Bruno Tonioli, who gave the dance a 9 and proclaimed it the best dance of the night.
Judge Carrie Ann Inaba couldn't control her enthusiasm, saying Kordei danced with "power" and the routine was "money." "You hammered that number into the ground, girlfriend," she said.
"You are a wonderful dancer, you have so much promise," Len Goodman chimed in.
"What a way to end the night," said Julianne Hough. "That was more than a foxtrot. That is a number you go to see on Broadway or a tour. You own the stage so much."
