Update: As of Oct. 17, Frank Iero and the Patience has cancelled the rest of its 2016 tour dates due to the "severity of injuries sustained in Australia." This includes 24 U.S. dates planned for between Oct. 28 and Nov. 27. Full refunds are available through point of purchase. For now, their European tour (starting Feb. 11 in Belfast, Ireland) is still on.
Former My Chemical Romance guitarist Frank Iero and two companions are recovering from an auto accident during the hours prior to a gig on Thursday night (Sept. 13) at Sydney, Australia's Metro Theatre.
Iero's party was arriving at the venue when a bus crashed into the back of their vehicle, according to Australia's 9News, which published photos of the scene. Iero, who is touring with his band Frank Iero and the Patience, described himself as "pretty banged up" and "still in a state of shock" but in "stable condition" following the incident. According to the 9News report, the two other men sustained more serious injuries and had to be taken to Sydney's St. Vincent's Hospital, where they are in stable condition.

The bus was not carrying any passengers and its driver was not seriously injured.
Shortly after, Live Nation Australia & New Zealand tweeted that the show had been canceled, with all tickets refunded. This was the last scheduled date on the band's tour in that region; their next scheduled show is Oct. 28 in Sayreville, N.J., the same day they'll release their new studio album, Parachutes.
Iero joined MCR in 2002 and served as a guitarist and backing vocalist through their hiatus in 2013. Below, find well wishes from My Chem frontman Gerard Way following Iero's accident.
Billboard has reached out to Iero's rep for further updates.
