Eminem’s All-Star ‘Detroit Vs. Everybody’ Video Celebrates His City

Eminem has released a video for his hometown anthem “Detroit Vs. Everybody,” a collaboration with fellow Motor City hip-hop heroes Royce da 5’9”, Big Sean, Danny Brown, Def Loaf, and Trick Trick.

Although the title sounds antagonistic, the all-star posse track is more of a celebration of their neighborhood.  Brown offers one of the standout verses, rhyming: “Coming from the streets where they thirsty, starving to eat / Just a step away from failing / That’s why they call it the D.”

The black and white clip also profiles the city at its best and worst, juxtaposing footage of dilapidated residences and abandoned buildings with images of the Detroit Tigers stadium, Joe Louis Arena, and Ford Field.

The song is from Eminem’s Shady XV compilation released last November.
