Ed Sheeran Puts Three Songs in the Top 30

Ed Sheeran has three songs in the top 30 on this week’s Hot 100.His former top 10 hit “Don’t” holds at #17 in its 26th week, “Thinking Out Loud” leaps from #39 to #24 in its ninth week, and “Make It Rain” is the week’s top new entry at #34. This triple play comes just five days after Sheeran received a Grammy nomination for Album of the Year for his sophomore album, x.

"Thinking Out Loud" returns to #1 on the U.K.’s Official Singles Chart this week. This is its second week on top, making it Sheeran’s longest-running #1 hit to date in his homeland. "Sing" spent one week on top in June. x is on track to log its 10th week at #1 on the U.K.’s Official Albums Chart next week.

This week’s big Hot 100 news is Hozier's “Take Me To Church” rising to #2, ending a 15-week streak in which female solo artists had a lock on the top two.  That was the lead of a Chart Watch blog which we posted Wednesday. Beyoncé's “7/11” jumps from #18 to #13 in its second week. Beyoncé, too, received an Album of the Year nomination last week for her hit album Beyoncé … “I Don’t F**k With You” by Big Sean featuring E-40 rebounds from #15 to #14 in its 11th week. The song has climbed as high as #11 … Mr. Probz's “Waves” rebounds from #20 to #18 in its 16th week. The song has climbed as high as #14. It spent two weeks at #1 on the U.K.'s Official Singles Chart in May.

O.T. Genasis's “Coco” jumps from #38 to #28 in its third week … Pentatonix's “Mary, Did You Know?” leaps from #60 to #38 in its third week.The quintet's version of Harry Simeone Chorale's 1958 hit”The Little Drummer Boy” reached #13 last year.

Matt McAndrew's version of Damien Rice's 2001 song “The Blower's Daughter” is the week's second-highest new entry at #40. McAndrew is a contestant on The Voice.Rice, an Irish singer/songwriter, has yet to crack the Hot 100 as an artist … Tim McGraw's “Shotgun Rider” rebounds from #47 to #43 in its 10th week. It's #1 on Hot Country Songs for the second week.

Mariah Carey's 1994 holiday classic “All I Want For Christmas Is You” re-enters the chart at #50. The song has sold 2,795,000 digital copies, more than any other Christmas song in digital history … Raelynn's “God Made Girls” leaps from #86 to #61 in its seventh week … Luke Bryan's “I See You” jumps from #89 to #70 in its second week … WALK THE MOON's “Shut Up And Dance” jumps from #88 to #75 in its fourth week.

"Prayer In C" by Lillywood & Robin Schulz is the week’s third-highest new entry at #87. The song was first released in 2010 by Lilly Wood and The Prick, a French-Israeli folk pop duo. German electronic producer Robin Schulz remixed the song and released it as a single. Schulz has had considerable success with edits of “Rather Be” by Clean Bandit featuring Jess Glynne and Mr. Probz's “Waves.”

Sheppard's “Geronimo” debuts at #90. It's from Bombs Away. Sheppard is an Aussie pop band … Jason Aldean's “Just Gettin' Started” re-enters the chart at #94. It has climbed as high as #61 … “Lonely Tonight” by Blake Shelton featuring Ashley Monroe debuts at #95. It’s the second Hot 100 hit from Shelton’s former #1 album, BRINGING BACK THE SUNSHINE.

"G.D.F.R." by Flo Rida featuring Sage The Gemini re-enters the chart at #97. It has climbed as high as #84 … Randy Houser's “Like A Cowboy” debuts at #98. It's the fourth Hot 100 hit from his third studio album, How Country FeelsTaylor John Williams's version of Lorde's 2013 smash “Royals” debuts at #100. He was a contestant on The Voice.
