Now that the dust from Black Friday has settled, it’s time to get out our excavation tools and find the deals that performed the best on one of America’s favorite days of consumerism. And here to help is eBay, which revealed some of its best-selling items items from Friday, November 25. So if you went to town on online deals this past weekend, don’t feel bad — you’ve certainly got plenty of company.
One of the most popular items on eBay this year proved to be a rather classic one — a watch. The digital auction house saw a watch sold every three seconds on Black Friday, with the Apple Watch ostensibly serving as a rather popular choice (one was sold every 13 seconds). In terms of a more timely trend, eBay also reported a Pokémon item sold every four seconds, and a LEGO item sold every six seconds.
The e-commerce giant also saw quite a bit of demand for techy deals — for example, a laptop was sold every nine seconds, a Fitbit sold every 15 seconds, a drone was sold every 18 seconds, and an iPhone 7 was sold every 30 seconds.
In general, it would appear that the top selling categories of items this Black Friday were toys, fashion, and electronics. This holiday season, kids can expect to see plenty of Fisher-Price Imaginext Ultra T-Rex’s under the tree (the top-selling toy last Friday), and for the slightly older gift recipient, perhaps a 4CH 6-Axis FPV RC Drone Quadcopter Wifi Camera. In the fashion realm, colognes and perfumes performed particularly well, with three of the top five selling items all intended to make their wearers smell more desirable.
And as far as electronics went, gaming reigned supreme. An Xbox Live 12 Month Gold Membership was the top-selling item, followed by the Sony PlayStation 4 Slim Launch Edition Black Console, and the Google Chromecast.
Happy shopping, friends. Cyber Monday is just around the corner.
