Lil Wayne and Nicki Minaj are a formidable pair whenever they land on a track together. Aware of their fiery chemistry, David Guetta taps the Young Money heavyweights for his new single "Light My Body Up."
From the onset, Guetta allows Minaj to cruise through the electro-infused record with two verses. After she builds momentum toward the bridge, that enables Wayne to sneak in a playful verse of his own. Soaked in Auto-Tune, Wayne's whimsical delivery meshes well with the hypnotic track. "Girl, you know I brought that thing right up out the darkness/ Made that thing a starfish, right up on my swordfish," says Wayne.
Recently, Minaj clinched a huge milestone when she surpassed Aretha Franklin for the most Billboard Hot 100 hits of any female. Last week, she bested Franklin with her string of releases, which included "Regret in My Tears," "Changed It" and "No Frauds" featuring Lil Wayne and Drake. Before Minaj dropped her collection of tracks, she was tied at 73 records with Franklin on the Billboard Hot 100.
As for Guetta, he and Minaj have history on the music front. His most successful record on the Hot 100 came courtesy of the "Anaconda" star when they teamed up for "Turn Me On" in 2012.
