Hey girls! Ever wanted to date your favorite member of One Direction? Well, be careful what you wish for.
The new music video by 1D, “Night Changes,” is a work of marketing genius, combining two major components of the man band’s appeal: their undeniable dateability, and their wacky sense of humor and willingness to poke fun at their own heartthrob image.
The clip starts out offering an assortment of dream-date options with Britain’s most eligible bachelors. A candlelit pasta dinner with Zayn? A countryside convertible cruise with Louis? Romps at the local carnival or ice rink with Liam and Harry? Or how about a cozy night by the fire with Niall, a cup of cocoa, and a flirty game of Jenga? It’s a Choose Your Own Dating Adventure!
But then the blokes’ dream dates turn (spoiler alert) horrifically, hilariously nightmarish.
We have a feeling that most Directioners would still choose a trip to the ER with Harry Styles over a boring, typical date night with just about anyone else. But consider this a warning if you’re ever lucky enough to end up on a date with Liam Payne. Make sure not to wear a hat, that’s all we’re sayin’.
