According to multiple reports, the 17-month engagement between Courteney Cox and Snow Patrol guitarist Johnny McDaid has ended.

People and TMZ have both confirmed through sources that McDaid moved out of Cox’s Los Angeles homes just before Thanksgiving and moved back to England in a sort of opposite day Notting Hill situation.

McDaid and Cox — who were introduced to one another by Ed Sheeran — started dating in late 2013; they were engaged in June 2014.

Neither Cox nor McDaid has confirmed the reports themselves and Yahoo has reached out to their representatives for comment. According to both People and TMZ’s sources, it was simple personality differences that caused the split. Apparently Cox, 51, is much more social than the 39-year-old McDaid. The couple reportedly tried therapy to patch things up, but ultimately made a mutual decision to go their separate ways.

This would have been the first marriage for McDaid; Cox was previously married to David Arquette, with whom she has a daughter, Coco.
