Colorado Town Faces Warning Over THC Found In Water

A small town in eastern Colorado got a large scare on Thursday (July 21) when a well was found contaminated with the strain of cannabis.

Hugo, Colorado, a town with just 730 residents, were surprised to hear they were having a cannabis-related problem with the area’s water supply.

According to CNN, a cannabis contaminated well was discovered by officials on Thursday (July 21), leading to a reverse 911 call and a shutdown of water usage. “At this time, investigators are assessing the situation with state and federal authorities,” a Facebook message from the Lincoln County Sheriff’s page reads. “Bathroom usage is still safe, but until more information is known to us, out of an abundance of caution, avoid drinking town of Hugo water.”

Bottled waters are currently being sent to the town with no reported ill residents. While Colorado has approved the use of recreational mary jane, Hugo and Lincoln County have not. The police department will continue to test for tetrahydrocannabinol or THC in other areas.

For now, a cute little patrol van is manning the well.

It’s fair that the town is taking precaution over the incident, but the combination of water and THC will only give you a calming feeling.. so we’ve heard.
