College Kid Picks the Wrong Day to Praise Kanye West on ‘Jeopardy!’
Sam Deutsch is a smart kid who’s been doing really well in the recent Jeopardy! college championship, but he’s also a victim of terrible timing. The same day Sam professed his love for Kanye West, Kanye tweeted, “BILL COSBY INNOCENT.” We doubt Sam knew that, though, before he waxed poetic on Yeezy.
During the portion of the show where Alex Trebek gets to know his contestants better, he said to Sam, “You’re into music, I gather, but a particular musician, Kanye West, has become a great inspiration for you in what way?” “His music, of course, but also recently he’s getting into fashion, which I really respect. He has some great shoes coming out,” Deutsch gushed. “That’s not a promotion or anything. Everybody would agree with me on that.”
Fortunately, Sam’s allegiance only goes so far. He responded to West’s Cosby tweet with, “You better than this.”
