Classic Albums Remade: The Beatles,'Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band'

The concept of Classic Albums Remade is to find a cover version of every song from the original album and put the tracks into the same order. For the latest entry, I thought I would remake the album that Rolling Stone magazine has dubbed the greatest album of all time: The Beatles’ classic 1967 recording, Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band.

I won’t argue with Rolling Stone on this pick, considering that Sgt. Pepper’s is pretty much perfect from beginning to end. In fact, you’ll be hard-pressed to find a review of Sgt. Pepper’s with less than a five-star rating. It has sold bundles, topped the charts, and influenced millions. It’s so influential that two of the cover songs in this remade version (Joe Cocker’s “With a Little Help From My Friends” and Elton John’s “Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds”) hit No. 1 on the U.K. and U.S. charts, respectively.
