Chemical Brothers & Q-Tip’s ‘Go’: Watch the Michel Gondry-Directed Video

This summer, British electronic duo the Chemical Brothers will release Born in the Echoes, their first new album in five years due out July 17 on Astralwerks. Fans can get an early taste of the project Monday (May 4) with “Go,” the lead single featuring rapper Q-Tip of A Tribe Called Quest that premiered on BBC Radio 1 as Annie Mac’s “Hottest Record in the World.”

This isn’t the first time the dance icons have collaborated with Q-Tip. In 2005, they produced "Galvanize,“ a song that appeared on their album Push the Button and won a Grammy Award for Best Dance Recording. "Go” has a decidedly retro feel and Tip’s verses are almost percussive: “Everybody jumping out of their mind/everybody going out of their skins,” he coos, before a round of tight, Kraftwerk-esque synths and acid-breaks rumble in.

To direct the music video, the duo tapped Academy Award-winning French filmmaker Michel Gondry. The theme? A seven-piece human locomotive to match the song’s title. Watch the clip here:
