Chance the Rapper Nominated for Emmy

He’s up for the Outstanding Original Music and Lyrics award for his “SNL” song “Last Christmas”

By Noah Yoo.

Chance the Rapper has been nominated for the Emmy award for Outstanding Original Music and Lyrics for his contribution to the song “Last Christmas.” Found in last year’s “Jingle Barack” sketch on “Saturday Night Live,” in which the rapper parodied Run-DMC’s “Christmas in Hollis,” the song was co-written by Chance alongside Kenan Thompson and Will Stephen, with music by “SNL” musical director Eli Brueggemann. Elsewhere in the nominations, Donald Glover and Aziz Ansari have snagged nods for their work on “Atlanta” and “Master of None” respectively. In addition to his “SNL” appearance, last December also saw Chance release his Merry Christmas Lil’ Mama holiday album with Jeremih.
