Carousel Live Debuts Asian Talent Showcase Series

A new concert series dedicated to showcasing and promoting talent from Asia will launch next week in Los Angeles. Carousel Live will premiere with a four-show run featuring South Korean indie-pop band The Solutions, in a free show on Oct. 17 at The Wayfarer. From there, the band, whose new album is titled Ticket to the Moon, will perform three more shows that will be headlined by U.S. acts -- including pop artist (and social-media maven) Sammy Wilk, who recently dropped his debut album Ready for War, featuring Ky-Mani Marley and Jack & Jack, dance music DJ Proximity, and progressive house DJ Ryos.

Carousel Live program director Greg Fish calls the series a "unique opportunity for Asian acts to interact with American fans, and for U.S. headliners to engage with a new potential Asian fan base. It's awesome that Korean music has the visibility that it now does, but we wanted to take this opportunity to introduce other great musical talent from Asia that lies outside the typical K-Pop idol category." While Carousel Live's first run is focused solely on the southern California area, Fish notes that future plans include similar runs in other markets, as well as the possibility of staging a nationwide tour that could also be taken to Asia.

Here is the lineup for the inaugural Carousel Live, for which tickets are now available:

Oct 18 @ Hotel Café: The Solutions -

Oct 28 @ Troubadour: Sammy Wilk, The Solutions, Sophia Kameron and Found Vegas -
