Bruno Mars' latest single "24K Magic" dances to a No. 2 debut on the Billboard + Twitter Top Tracks chart (dated Oct. 22). The song, released on Atlantic Records, was released on Oct. 7 on digital and streaming services.
Billboard + Twitter Top Tracks is a weekly ranking of the most shared and/or mentioned songs on Twitter in the U.S., ranked by the volume of shares over a seven-day period (Monday to Sunday). The latest chart's tracking period ended on Oct. 9.
Mars also released the music video for "24K Magic" on Oct. 7 on YouTube. The video has surpassed 20 million global views on YouTube as of Oct. 11 -- less than a week since its release.
The arrival of "24K Magic" gives Mars his first appearance on the Top Tracks chart -- which launched in 2014 -- as a lead artist. He previously reached the chart as a featured artist on Mark Ronson's "Uptown Funk!" in 2014, peaking No. 4.
The new song also debuts on the Radio Songs chart, bowing at No. 36 with 36 million audience impressions in its first three days of airplay, according to Nielsen Music. The song also premieres on the Pop Songs chart at No. 28. The airplay period for both lists ended Oct. 9.
The song has also boosted Mars' social profiles. The singer leaps onto the Social 50 chart at No. 20 after not appearing on the chart since March. The Social 50 is powered by data tracked by music analytics company Next Big Sound and ranks the most popular artists on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, SoundCloud, Wikipedia, Instagram, Tumblr and Vine. Mars' Instagram activity leads his growth across his social platforms, with 1.1 million Instagram reactions for the week ending Oct. 9, a 6,500 percent increase from the previous week.
"24K Magic" is the title track of Mars' upcoming album, due to be released Nov. 18.
Lady Gaga's "Million Reasons" also opens on the Billboard + Twitter Top Tracks chart with a No. 3 debut. The song follows "Perfect Illusion" as the second offering released from her forthcoming album Joanne.
"Million Reasons," which Ronson and Nashville singer-songwriter Hillary Lindsey helped write and produce, is Gaga's ninth song to appear on the Top Tracks chart. "Perfect Illusion," which debuted at No. 1 (chart dated Sept. 3) is her only single to appear at a higher position.
The song arrived on digital and streaming services on Oct. 5 and the song's official YouTube audio, which premiered the same day, has collected 6.5 million global views since its upload.
The track opens at No. 38 on the Digital Song Sales chart with 15,000 digital downloads sold in the week ending Oct. 6, according to Nielsen Music.
Also on the chart, Solange notches a No. 6 debut with "Cranes in the Sky." The track is the lead single from the artist's latest studio album A Seat at the Table, which was released Sept. 30 and debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200.
The song, produced by R&B singer-songwriter Raphael Saadiq, also debuted on the Billboard Hot 100 at No. 74 and on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart at No. 28.
Solange unveiled the song's music video on YouTube on Oct. 2 and it has since climbed to 3 million global views since its release.
Elsewhere on the latest Top Tracks chart, John Legend's latest single "Love Me Now" enters at No. 13, marking his third appearance on the chart. "Love Me Now" premiered on digital and streaming services on Oct. 6 and its official YouTube lyric video has garnered more than 2 million global views through Oct. 11.
The track is the Academy Award winner's debut single from his upcoming fifth studio album Darkness and Light, due out later this year.
