Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band Salute Jon Stewart with Rocking Farewell
Bruce Springsteen &the E Street Band gave fellow Jersey guy Jon Stewart a proper farewell on his final show as host of The Daily Show.
Springsteen and the band-guitarist Steven Van Zandt, guitarist Nils Lofgren, bassist Garry Tallent, drummer Max Weinberg, keyboardist Roy Bittan, vocalist Patti Scialfa violinist Soozie Tyrell, accordion player Charlie Giordano and saxophonist Jake Clemons ushered out the 52-year old host in style with a performance of “Land of Hope and Dreams” which segued into "Born to Run,“ with members of the show’s staff and correspondents dancing along for the finale.

“Thanks for everything, Jon,” said Springsteen before bursting into the song. “We wish you happy and safe travels.”
Stewart, who was born in New York but grew up in Lawrenceville, NJ, was clearly moved at the end of the show.
“Nothing ends, it’s just a continuation…a pause in the conversation,” said a touched Stewart, who called the performance his “moment of zen."
Stewart not only got hugs from Springsteen and Scialfa, but walked off stage with Weinberg’s drum sticks.

Stewart’s send-off included guest turns by former correspondents Stephen Colbert, John Oliver, Ed Helms, Steve Carell, Olivia Munn, and many others.
