Britney Spears' latest single "Slumber Party," featuring Tinashe, rocketed to the top of the Billboard + Twitter Trending 140 real-time chart thanks to buzz generated from the song's music video release.
The song reached No. 1 on the chart at midnight ET Friday morning (Nov. 18), shortly before the video was released on YouTube at 3 a.m. ET. "Slumber Party" held the top spot for about 10 hours and ruled the morning as the video circulated on social media.
The Billboard + Twitter Trending 140 chart measures the real-time acceleration of conversation around artists and their music on Twitter.
The video has logged nearly 500,000 global views on YouTube since its release.
"Slumber Party" is the second single off Spears' ninth studio album Glory, which debuted and peaked at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 dated Aug. 17. Spears also released a music video for "Make Me…," the first single off the album, in August. "Make Me…," featuring G-Eazy, reached No. 17 on the Billboard Hot 100 on Aug. 6.
The "Slumber Party" video was directed by Colin Tilley, who has directed music videos for dozens of artists including Kendrick Lamar, Justin Bieber and Nicki Minaj. His music video for Lamar's "Alright" was nominated for a Grammy Award for best music video.
