Bridges, Moore reunite in new film 'Seventh Son'

SAN DIEGO (AP) — The Dude is reuniting with Julianne Moore in his new film.

Jeff Bridges came to Comic-Con on Saturday to offer fans an early look at "Seventh Son," expected in theaters next year.

Bridges plays a witch hunter and Moore is a witch — and his former lover — in this mythological story of good vs. evil. Bridges is shown battling flying dragons and massive beasts that emerge from underground.

After the footage played, Bridges couldn't contain his enthusiasm, saying, "I haven't seen a movie like this since I was about 10, man!"

The film is set to open Jan. 17.

Bridges and Moore starred together in the 1998 cult classic "The Big Lebowski."

The Oscar-winning actor also got philosophical inside the San Diego Convention Center's largest exhibition hall, pulling a paper from his pocket and putting on glasses to read an inspirational quote to the crowd of more than 6,000 fans.

"The line dividing good and evil cuts through the heart of every human being, and who is willing to destroy a piece of his own heart?" Bridges read.

He went on to say that imagination is one of humanity's greatest gifts.

"Nature can be very cruel, but human beings have been given this evolutionary gift of imagination, and we can use this imagination to dream of peace," he said. "That's my task as a filmmaker to realize this dream, and make stories about realizing peace."
